Scientific Publications

GRZ’s technology is grounded in over three decades of hydrogen research conducted in collaboration with leading universities and research institutions.

Our team continues to publish peer-reviewed studies in materials science, solid-state hydrogen storage, and thermochemical compression, advancing the fundamental knowledge that underpins every GRZ system.

Small-scale demonstration of the conversion of renewable energy to synthetic hydrocarbons

The design and build of a pilot plant for the conversion of solar energy to synthetic hydrocarbons is presented. In addition to technical realization, valuable economic parameters and information about suppliers are presented.

Sustainable Energy & Fuels, Vol. 1, Issue 8 (2017), pp. 1748–1758– N. Gallandat, J. Bérard, F. Abbet, A. Züttel

Hydrogen storage methods

Hydrogen exhibits the highest heating value per mass of all chemical fuels. Furthermore, hydrogen is regenerative and environmentally friendly.

The Science of Nature, Vol. 91, Issue 4 (2004), pp. 157–172– A. Züttel

Hydrogen-storage materials for mobile applications

Mobility — the transport of people and goods — is a socioeconomic reality that will surely increase in the coming years. It should be safe, economic and reasonably clean.

Nature, Vol. 414 (2001), pp. 353–358– L. Schlapbach, A. Züttel
